Overcoming Fear, Unbelief, and Other Obstacles to Bold Witnessing

📋 Introduction

Evangelism is a central command of the Lord Jesus Christ to every believer. Yet many Christians encounter barriers that prevent them from sharing the Gospel boldly and wholeheartedly. This study explores six common barriers and how to overcome them through faith and obedience.

🚧 Six Common Barriers to Evangelism

Fear: Fear of rejection, opposition, or not having the right words holds many back. God calls us to live in power, not fear (2 Tim. 1:7).
Unbelief: Unbelief appears as doubt in God's power to save or use us. Hebrews 3:12 warns against an unbelieving heart.
Linear Thinking: Relying only on logic and human reasoning limits us. Evangelism is not just intellectual — it is spiritual.
Lack of Knowledge or Preparation: Hosea 4:6 warns that a lack of knowledge destroys people. Prepared Christians witness with more boldness.
Shame or Fear of Man: Romans 1:16 reminds us not to be ashamed of the Gospel. Fear of man silences us, but the fear of God brings obedience.
Lack of Passion for Souls: When love for others grows cold, urgency is lost. True love compels us to witness, even when it is uncomfortable.
